For the past year, our team had been set in terms of who would be going. And though it seemed set in our eyes, in g’s eyes, he had other plans.

We want to take time to introduce a new member of our team. Andy C. had spoken to me about joining the team a few months back. It was a pleasure to think and talk to him about his convictions in living out his faith and it is a pleasure to introduce him to you. Please support and keep him and our team in your thoughts!

Another Dodgers fan on the team. Starting to feel pretty lonely now.

1. How were you introduced to BCC?
I had been ch hopping for a year previous to BCC. I was also entering my last semester at Biola so I was looking for a ch closer to home. Another friend of mine was also in the process of ch hopping and had checked out BCC one Sunday and told me to check it out. So I did.
2. Why did you choose BCC?
I had been looking to find a ch that was like-minded in prioritizing Scripture, but had become very discouraged after a year of searching. After my first Sunday at BCC however, my exhaustive list of what I was searching for was completely met. P. Mark was preaching the first Sunday I attended and I was just completely blown away. For the first time I heard someone talk about and describe Jesus the way I saw him in Scripture. I even emailed P. Mark that very day saying “Thank you, I feel like you’ve introduced me to a whole new Jesus,” the Jesus I knew from Scripture but could not find in any of the ch-es I attended. With that I knew I just had to stay even though I came alone, not knowing a single person at BCC.
3. What is a memorable experience you had at BCC?

Definitely going out to EA with last years short term team was a memorable experience. It was about a year after I started attending BCC and it helped me  get more integrated into the ch as I got close with the other team members. It was also an awakening time for me as I felt a small personal revival in myself, being convicted by the importance of g’s Word (Psalm 119) and abiding in Him (John 15).

4. What is a memorable experience you had at BCC?

My conviction since becoming a Christian back in 2008 was always to go into ministry. Over time the conviction for long term missions stayed on the forefront of my thoughts. It is what I’ve geared my life towards during my time at Biola and never want the things of this world to suffocate that conviction. Through my multiple short term trips with para-ch organizations I’ve also found that missionary work is most effective when it is done through the local church, through the multiplying of local churches. With the goal that Alex has in mind, seeing g open the doors for me to go out this year, and the convictions Scripture has placed on my heart, I just have to go in faith.

5. What is a memorable experience you had at BCC?

Getting to witness g’s redemptive plan first hand out in EA is what I’m most looking forward to. I had a small glimpse during last summers trip and it has left me hungry to see more and to be part of His work. I’m also looking forward to seeing how g will mold me further through the team and through the prayers of BCC back home.
