Happy 2016, everyone! Because they celebrate January 1st and the lunar new year, it’s hard to tell which day is more important. What I do know is that there is a nice, week-long break for everyone in February. Woohoo!
Sorry for the lack of updates, it’s been busy here! We’ve had visitors, celebrations, events, all mixed in with our normal day-to-day activities.
One thing people who move overseas don’t initially anticipate is how your brain is split into two timelines. You have a timeline for what is going on back at home and a timeline of what you are doing here. It kind of helps explain why time seems to go by so slowly. But anyway, here’s a brief recap of the past two months!
Two trips to Hong Kong, four flights, two weeks-ish of travel, several trips to the visa office, two trips to the exit entry bureau, and lots of humidity sweat later, we finally have a work visa!
