Thank you to all who have already been supporting us in prayer! We’ll provide periodic updates to our prayer requests, even though they’ll probably remain the same until we leave.
- Transition to China
- Spiritual preparation and soberness: To remember God and our reasons for going.
- Logistics: To use our time and resources well and to trust in God as we make decisions and plans (housing, schooling, work, visas).
- Team
- Unity: For our team to be united in purpose and vision and for us to work well together now, as we plan and prepare, and later as we work together in ministry.
- Spiritual discipline: For each of us to be devoted to our spiritual disciplines (reading and studying the Bible, praying, evangelism, and fellowship).
- The work
- To be ready in season and out of season (2 Tim. 4:2).
- Church plant: That the church may be established in God’s way and in God’s time.
- Future plans
- Wisdom: We’ll need to make a multitude of decisions as we move and start a new life abroad. It can be overwhelming at times, but please pray that we would continually seek God’s wisdom. Some specific concerns include: where/how to do ministry, work, Haddon’s schooling, and long-term visas.
- English Teaching: Alex was introduced to a potential job opportunity teaching English in Beijing. Please pray for wisdom and discernment. It sounds like a great opportunity, but we want to ensure that the final decision will honor God.
- Faithfulness: Something that we’ve been learning and continue to learn is how to live by faith every day.
- Marcus and Theodore
- Marcus and Theo were born just a few days ago to my college roommate Noelle and her husband Ben. They were born premature and have a long road of recovery ahead. No bleeding or major distress has been detected, but some immediate challenges are feeding and lung development. Please pray for their health; that God would strengthen their bodies and allow them to grow steadily. Please pray for Ben and Noelle to remain hopeful and faithful as they trust in God to guide their family. In the midst of this, they are also raising their son Dylan and preparing to move, so please pray for a smooth transition as they handle the logistics of selling their home, moving, and caring for their children.
- Emily
- Our darling little Emily was recently diagnosed with Stage 4, high-risk neuroblastoma. She has undergone two rounds of chemotherapy and will continue to receive chemo and radiation therapy along with other treatments.Emily is the daughter of our friends Aaron and Tina who moved their family to NorCal to plant a church. Like many from Berean (our church), we wish so much that we could do more to support them in their time of need. We can’t be there physically, but we have been praying daily. We hope that you’ll join us in praying for Emily, for her parents, and for her older brother Silas. For more info on Emily, visit her facebook page. #prayers4em
