Our baby boy turned two! It seems really surreal that we would have a two year old, especially with all of the changes our family has gone through in the past two years.

We are so thankful that g has provided us with a flexible child. Despite his rambunctiousness, and sometimes rebelliousness, I’m grateful that H has been able to adjust to whatever opportunities have come our way.

In just two short years, he has:

  • Lived in five different homes, and moved four times; five different cities, two different countries
  • Flown on seven flights; four international, three national
  • Slept in at least 3 different crib/pack n play combinations
  • Had two visits to the ER
  • One broken bone (and cast)
  • Attended two ch-s regularly, visited at least five
  • Been exposed to four+ languages
  • Had birthday parties in two different countries
  • Eaten international cuisine; everything from pizza to Beijing duck
  • Made friends from almost every continent
  • Attended weddings, funerals, birthday parties (Doesn’t seem that amazing to most people, but I only attended one wedding as a child. Such a huge contrast!)
  • Learned to ride his baby bike very well
  • Peed in the potty several times, but pooped only once
  • Taken a bath in bathtubs, plastic bins, you name it
  • Eaten in more bars and pubs than most adults (they have the best western cuisine)
  • Learned many words and phrases, many of them that only make sense in context. For example: “Watch baseball highlights!”
  • Won the hearts of many

We’re grateful for the blessing of being parents to our boy. It doesn’t seem appropriate to call him little anymore being as active as he is. He makes our life difficult at times, but it brings us joy to watch him learn, grow, and develop by g’s grace. He finds new ways to surprise and entertain us everyday. We yarp daily that he would be saved and that he would live a life worthy of JC.  While we don’t expect him to be equal to his namesake, we hope that he’ll share his same conviction and love for our g.

We love you Haddy bear!
