Our Next Stage

As most of you already know, we welcomed a new addition to our family about two weeks ago, Ryle Victor Han. Jen is recovering well as our family adjusts to Ryle’s unique personality and quirks.

Though my focus has been on my family, I know that our family is not going through this alone. There’s a lot of people and communities who invested into our family that made this next stage that much more enjoyable, but more importantly honoring to God. In my sleep-deprived state, I’m going through names and groups that God sovereignly brought into our lives and I want to use this blog post to thank Him for bringing many of you alongside us for this next stage.

  1. BCC: We want to thank God for BCC back at home. Whether it’s through private messages or the summer team hauling stuff over from the States, it is a reminder of God’s grace in our lives. We love you guys!
  2. BICF: Our spiritual community here has been a support for us prior to and during this transition. Offers to help and to serve have not gone unnoticed and we’re grateful that God led us to this group of believers.
  3. Local Community: In our short time, here we’ve developed some meaningful friendships and they’ve been supportive; offering help and encouraging words and prayers. They understand that with the language barrier, we will need help and so we’re grateful to God that He’s surrounded us with helpful brothers and sisters.
  4. Family: Jen’s mother came out to help and assist after Ryle was born. It’s wonderful to see family on this side of the planet. We’ve received so much help from both sides of our families. It makes us extremely grateful that God gave us supportive family members.
  5. God: God has been with us, guiding and leading us in whatever stage we’ve been in.  In my experience, this is a lesson that is repeated and refined at every single stage of my life. With every new challenge comes an opportunity to trust in His plans and His ways and He continues to embed this important truth into our family’s hearts.

Though it’ll be another transition for our family to undergo, it is something that we will embrace primarily because God has proven over and over again that He does not abandon His children.  And we are thankful that one way God has proven His presence is near, is through your love and support.

I’ll just leave with a few recent photos of the boys.
